Summer Yummies

After the Cubs loss, I decided to drown my sorrows in chocolate and made these...

The inner Rachael Ray in me decided to make some chocolate covered strawberries. They were so yummy, and I even shared them with the Sox fan. Between the two of us, we polished these babies off in a matter of minutes. Abby and Quincy got their own treats.

They are soooo cute!! I LOVE THEM!! Sorry, I am a little biased when it comes to my babies. Here's my baby girl Abby keeping me company online, she's patiently waiting so she can check out some websites on catnip...

This weekend... it is sooooo on...

This should be an interesting weekend, since I am the Cubs fan, and Dan is the Sox fan. I am hoping for another sweep this weekend!! Woo Hoo!! He was not thrilled last weekend, it's no fun when your team gets spanked!! I'll try to be easy on him... maybe...

Definition of Gluttony...

1 : excess in eating or drinking 2 : greedy or excessive indulgence

This is my afternoon snack after having a very large lunch!! I don't normally chow down like this through the day, but hypochondriac boss is out today, so I am extremely bored! What else should I do but munch on a chocolate chip muffin, sip on a cappucino and surf the web. Of course, this is why I will have to do some extra work at the gym tonight. It's so yummy though, it's worth it!

Need a jolt...

... of caffeine. Today is one of those days where I am just exhausted, not sure why, but I am sooooo wishing that Starbucks delivered! I would call and order up a triple shot of espresso!! I brought all of my workout stuff along to work with the intention that I would hit the club after, well, my dumb ass just realized I didn't bring socks. Looks like I will be going home, and then most likely hitting the couch with the cats for a nice nap until the boyfriend gets home. Does planning to workout burn any calories?

Go Cubs Go!!

Woo Hoo!! The Cubs swept the Sox!! The only thing better would have been to actually have gotten tickets and been in the ball park for it all. I'll settle for having been home this weekend and watching the first two games with other Cubs fans. Last night however, I was home in time to watch it with the boyfriend... who happens to be a Sox fan! Let's just say it was a little chilly in our house last night! Let's hope we can sweep them in their own ball park next weekend! (I'm so mean, aren't I?!)

TGIF!!

Myspace Comments at WishAFriend.com

Yay! It's Friday and this has been quite a week. My computer at work has been crashing constantly, turns out I have to reload Windows on to it... fun! I've been playing counselor to my hypochondriac boss who has been having some major anxiety issues, so, major drama around here. He recently wanted us to ask the mailman to start bringing the mail around 10:30am because right now it's just arriving a little too late for him. Sure thing... the federal government will be all over changing their schedule... for you!! Grrr...

On a brighter note... I am heading home to Chicago this weekend to go to a wedding, and celebrate my Mom's birthday. I am so excited, for her present, I bought her Cubs tickets to a game in September!! Mom is a HUGE Cubs fan and she is gonna love it!!

My first post!!

So here I am starting my first blog, almost can’t believe that I am doing it. I have read so many people’s blogs, some are inspiring, heartbreaking, creative and some are just too darn funny. I don’t really have a “journey” to take anyone on with this blog, really, to me it’s just going to be an online diary with some other thoughts thrown in, and maybe someone will read it and offer up some great advice or just regular old online sharing. That is was blogging is about after all. ;o) Some background information on me, well, a lot has changed over the past couple of years. I was engaged and in an abusive relationship. I left that relationship and met a great guy I love very much. In fact, I love him so much that I moved to rural Minnesota to be with him. One thing I have discovered about myself is that I am not a small town girl. Another reason I wanted to do this blog is for a good place to vent. I think my friends and family are a little tired of hearing how much I don’t like “small town living”, and frankly, I’m tired of hearing myself bitch about it. What can I say, I miss my friends and family, nothing to do in a small town, and my boss is a total jerk. So I apologize now if I get all “Debbie Downer” on here.

On a brighter note, I have enrolled in an online program with a school in Chicago to work towards getting my Bachelor’s Degree… finally!! Better late then never I guess!! I am also hoping to move back to Chicago before this year is out with the boyfriend. I have already started the process of job hunting. I think I will leave it at that for my first post. :o) I would just like to say that I am excited to meet people here and read other’s thoughts and ideas.
